- What conclusions did the author draw from the research?
- What evidence supported the author's conclusions?
- Are the author's conclusions consists with other things about this topic that you know and believe? If not, what points are inconsistent? If so, what other points of view might be held that would be inconsistent with these conclusions?

- Typically, the author is taking a position on some issue. Identify the position/perspective in your summary.
- Include any support which is cited/or any citations which refute the positions taken.
- Discuss conclusions drawn by the authors.
- Discuss your reaction/impressions of the discussion and the conclusions drawn.
