Friends draft#

I have two girlfriends who have been my friends for a lifetime.

I met Sally in the 2nd grade and Babs in the 3rd grade and we have been together throughout high school and college.

Even though they both went away from WV for their first semester in college, they came back to Marshall with me.

I am remembering all the great times because they just came from Houston and D.C. this past weekend to attend my oldest sons wedding.

I have no sisters and these girls gave me all their beauty tips about makeup, hair and we shared all the secrets of femalehood that we knew at that time and it was subject to change daily.

We in our high school and college years spent so much time together, talking, sharing, going out, partying and going to the beach.

We went to the beach together when we graduated from high school.

Our lives are in different cities but the internet and cell phones have allowed us to remain close.

When we are together it doesn't take long to be all caught up and then we laugh and have fun together.

I feel we three always cherish and make the most of our time together.

Babs is the talker, motivator and glamour girl of the group, always making us more gorgeous.

She also continues to build up our confidence.

Sally is the wit and creative writer of the group and still tells it like it is and has a vivid memory of our past.

Babs tells me that thirty years ago I was the risk taker, leader and very brazen which I was.

Today I am nurturing, mellow and want us all to get along.

Since I am the one still in Huntington they have a reason to come back, I'm the stabilizing force.

My first son's wedding was such an emotional and endearing event and it was so sensational  to share it with my oldest and dearest friends.

I would not have been offended if they hadn't come but they did and it means the world to me.

I can reach out to these girls and we are always there for each other.

It's so difficult to remember one special time because I truly don't remember much conflict.

It works for me to only reflect on the good times.

Friends are easier to make, much harder to keep.
